“Black beans (“caraotas” in Venezuela) constituted for many years the basic food of people with low purchasing power. Those have a high protein content and combined with cooked white rice it was ideal to feed children. Corn tortillas are typical of Mexico. The fresh salad, for the summer, cannot be missing from the Mediterranean diet. "
